INTERNATIONAL TEACHERS OF POP FEMENENERGY

International Teachers of Pop's good-humoured synth bangers have cemented the Yorkshire-based outfit as a reliable source of feel-good vibes since they emerged in 2018 with 'Age of the Train'. New single 'FEMENENERGY' follows March's 'Don't Diss The Disco' and its hilariously ingenious title could well be a contender for a new entry in the Oxford Dictionary in the not too distant future. Unashamedly celebrating the female experience, inhibitions melt away as seductive synth bass locks in with industrial-inspired beats that nod towards iconic tracks from New Order's 'Blue Monday' to Kraftwerk's 'We Are The Robots'. Vocalist Leonore Wheatley elaborates: “It describes the feeling of 'feeling yourself'. You walk into a bar, Femenenergy. You're legging it to the bus, Femenenergy. You're getting into the bath, Femenenergy. You can use it to describe pretty much anything because anything a woman does is Femenenergy. Anyone can feel Femenenergy, Femenenergy does not discriminate!!” 'FEMENENERGY' arrives alongside a sweet Vince Clarke (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Eurasure) remix (listen here), which should keep you dancing 'til Pop Gossip lands on the 28th of August. -Holly Mullineaux
